Category Cross-overs

Inwork taught a workshop in Packaging Effectiveness at the School of Visual Arts MPS program in 2016. We used examples of how brands known for specific categories translated their equities to packaging in other categories. We asked the students to use the brands they chose to revitalize for their thesis projects and consider them in the golf balls category. Then they created visual territory boards.


We translated the student’s mood boards into carton designs and created full prototypes. We utilized cutting edge and brand appropriate substrate and print effects including fresnel lenses, matte/gloss varnishes and specialty inks resulting in visually stunning and tactile experience packages.
